A Fort Payne man died Saturday night in a one-vehicle wreck.

State troopers said Todd Ledford, 44, was killed in an accident that happened about 6:12 p.m. on Highway 35 about three miles north of Cedar Bluff in the Cherokee County community of Blanche.

"He ran off the road and hit several trees," said State Trooper Charles Dysart. "We don't know what caused him to off the road. The wreck is still under investigation."

Troopers said Ledford was driving a 1994 Honda Accord. He was wearing a seat belt and airbags deployed.

Cherokee County Coroner Don Rogers pronounced Ledford dead at the scene.
