Tom Frank Bethany, a native of Okolona, died last Wednesday night in Rush Memorial Hospital in Meridian. He was 68.
Mr.Bethany was a retired telegraph operator who had worked for the GM&O Railroad for 47 years. He was a former resident of Brooksville, where retired.
He was a member of Druid Hills United Methodist Church and president of the Methodist Men's Club. he was past worshipful Master of Attapulgies (Ga.) Lodge No. 225, F&AM, and a member of Alle Temple in Savannah, Ga.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. last Friday from Webb Funeral Home in Meridian, followed by graveside service at 3 p.m. in Boone's Chapel Cemetery near Okolona.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mildred Bethany; three sons, William Bethany of Memphis, Tom Frank Bethany, Jr. of Meridian and Charles Bethany of Columbus; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Brady of Jackson; four brothers, H. C. Bethany of Aberdeen, R. w. Bethany of Tupelo, Calvin Bethany of Dallas, Texas, and Newton Bethany of Memphis; three sisters, Mrs. H. A. Kelso of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Curtis West and Mrs. J. L. McDonald, both of Tupelo; several grandchildren and one great grandchild.
