Final Rites for Frank F Bethany

Funeral services were conducted in the Chapel of the Barry Funeral Home at three o'clock Wednesday afternoon for Frank F Bethany, 66, who passed away early Tuesday morning at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A J Bethany, in the Chalk Bluff community. The rites were conducted by the Rev. W R Hammontree, pastor of the Methodist Church. Burial was in the Boone's Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Bethany was a Methodist.

Mr. Bethany who had been in ill health for several years, had been in a critical condition for about two months. A native of Kemper county, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H T Bethany. In 1905 he married to Miss Callie Glidwell, who survives. Soon after his marriage, he moved to this community. He was engaged in farming until his health failed several years ago, when he, with Mrs. Bethany went to Attapulgus, Ga. to make their home with their son, T F Bethany, and Mrs. Bethany. For the past year he had been with his son near Okolona.

In addition to his wife and T F and A J Bethany, he is survived by four other sons, Tom of whom are overseas. Pfc. N A Bethany with Patton's Third Army; Pfc R W Bethany, in the South Pacific; Pvt C G Bethany, stationed in Texas; H C Bethany, of Aberdeen; three daughters, Mrs. Herbert Kelso, of Knoxville, Tenn.; Mrs. Morris DeVaughn and Mrs. H M Rodgers, Tupelo; four sisters, Miss Eliza Bethany, DeKalb, Mrs. Wort Adams, Scooba, Mrs. Addie Watkins, Greenwood, Mrs. Florence Brown, Mobile, and a number of grandchildren.
