Hansel was the son of Gus Drawdy and Minnie Lee Tuten Drawdy of Varnville, S.C.He was married to Iva Lee Long Drawdy.He enlisted in the US Army Oct. 23, 1942 and was killed in non-battle at Camp Breckinridge, Ky. March 10, 1944. Services were held at Thames Cemetery in Hampton County, SC by Peeples Funeral Home Hampton, SC. Surviving besides his Parents and wife are two sons Jack M. and George M. Drawdy, and one daughter, Janice L. Drawdy, two brothers, Harold and Joe Drawdy and three sisters, Ethel D. Stanley, Celie D Reid,and Idel Drawdy. He was preceded in death by two infant sons, Hansel Drawdy Jr and Bobby Dean Drawdy. Burial was held in Thames cemetery by Peeples Funeral Home.
