OBITUARY - Callaway Weekly Gazette - Feb 23 1939- Mrs W.E. (Jack) Muir , native Callawegian, died Tuesday morning at 6:00 at her home in the McCredie neighborhood after an illness of four months. She was 85 years old. Funeral services will be held at the McCredie Methodist CHurch of which she was a member. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs Muir was born November 6 1853 in the Richland community, the daughter of George and Mary Jane Sacre, and continued to make her home in Callaway Co. her entire life. She was the last member of a family of Fifteen children born to Mr and Mrs Sacre. On Oct 30, 1888, she was married to W.E. Muir and on Oct 30, last year, the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversity at McCredie. Besides her husband, Mrs Muir is survived by one son., Cecil Muir of McCredie; one daughter, Miss Opal Muir at home and two step children Claude E Muir of Missoula , Montana and Mrs Edgar Smith of McCredie.
