Daughter of Edward and Deborah Coombs, she was born in Preston, New London, Connecticut, 15 March, 1795.
Abby married Reynolds Kenyon, son of John and Welthan Reynolds Kenyon, on 2 July, 1815, in Preston, New London, Connecticut. The marriage by performed by the Reverend Hyde at First Congregational Church, Preston, New London, Connecticut. This was the same Church in which her Grandfather and Elizabeth Muxly were married in 1782. Mother of Deborah Coombs, Abby Permelia, Thomas Edward, Ursula Ann, Job Reynolds, David Austin, DeWitt Clinton, Stephen Brewster, Francis "Frank" Harrison, Sarah Mariah "Sally" and Gurdin Noyse Kenyon. Wife of Reynolds Kenyon.
Abby's records, birth, marriage, death and headstone, all say Abby. The only record that says Abigail, is her father's Will. It says "my daughter Abigail Kenyon".
Abby Coombs was one smart lady, she left us all clues to her heritage.
Daughter 1: Deborah Coombs Kenyon, named after Abby's Mother.
Daughter 2: Abby Permelia, named after herself and her husband's 1st wife, Permelia Dyer.
Son 1: Thomas Edward Kenyon, named after Abby's Grandfather and her Father.
Son 2: Job Reynolds Kenyon, named after her brother-in-law and also her husband.
Ironically, no one realized the treasure she left us all, until I came into possession of a bible from her son Gurdin. Now everything makes sense.
My 3rd Greatgrandmother. Kenyon ID #11119W2.
