Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday March 24, 2009 at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt. Lisa is survived by her mom and dad, Sandi and Greg Darling of Humboldt; brother, Brian Darling, a freshman at Luther College; and sisters, Denise and Rachel of Humboldt. She is also survived by her grandparents, Norma Darling and Gale and Yvonne Moores all of Council Bluffs. Her grandfather, David Darling, preceded her in death.

Lisa Diane Darling, the daughter of Greg and Sandi (Moores) Darling, was born October 25, 1994 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Her parents brought her home to Audubon, Iowa where she spent her first year. In 1995, the family made their home at Underwood, Iowa where Lisa attended pre-school before moving to Plattsmouth, Nebraska for a year. They then made their home at Toledo where Lisa completed first through seventh grade. Her father's acceptance of the position of Superintendent of Schools brought the family to Humboldt in 2008. Lisa enjoyed being a wildcat she loved and participated in basketball, volleyball, softball, and track. She gave 110 percent in her activities and always emphasized the positive in competition. She was a caring girl who loved life, was happy-go-lucky, and could brighten your day when you needed it with random acts of kindness. She loved being with her family who will remember her ornery, happy smile and the twinkle in her eye. She enjoyed boating and tubing and especially being a cheerleader for her brother. She had a knack for bringing friends closer together. Her desire to be a friend to all was best demonstrated by her desire to be an organ donor at the time she received her driver's permit. Her gifts through the donor network will anonymously benefit untold numbers of people in medical need.
