Max L. Luckhart, 77, of Winston-Salem, N.C., formerly of Circleville, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2005 in Winston-Salem. He was born October 16, 1927, in Pickaway County, the son of the late Wayne Elliott Luckhart and Virginia (Mowery) Luckhart Mann, who survives. Max spent the early years of his life as a farmer and employee of the Logan Elm School District as a bus driver. In later years, he worked at Flo-lizer and was on the staff of Pickaway Diversified Industries.

He was preceded in death by his father Wayne; his step-father, the Rev. Ray Mann; and friend Marcine Frazier.

He is survived by his mother, Virginia, of Circleville; his brother, David (Mary) Luckhart of Chillicothe, children, Diane Luckhart of Columbus, Dacia (Ty) Ankrom of Circleville, Brent (Deborah Ball) Luckhart of Baltimore, Ohio, and Brad (Marjorie) Luckhart of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Ryan (Kristin Blosser) Ankrom of Canal Winchester, Sara Ankrom of Lake Ridge, Va., Colin Ankrom of Circleville, Elizabeth (John) Luckhart Akerman and Jared (Natalie Monfils) Luckhart of Charleston, South Carolina. Katherine Luckhart of Winston-Salem, Zachary Luckhart of Columbus, and Rachel Luckhart of Baltimore; great grandchildren, Jacob Ankrom and Jack and Charlie Akerman; former wife, Ann Vincent Luckart, many nieces and nephews, and life-long friends in the Saltcreek area.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2005 at St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, Tarlton, with Rev. Howard Clevenger officiating. Interment in Tarlton Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC, 27103, or The Elizabeth & Tab Williams Adult Day Care Center, 231 Melrose St. Winston-Salem, NC, 27103. Arrangements were made by Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home.
