Gelee C. Dowden passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at her daughter's home in Baton Rouge. She was born on October 31, 1917 in Barham, LA and was a resident of the Peason Community for many years. She is survived by three daughters and son-in-law; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren Camryn and Ethan. She is also survived by sisters-in-law; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Tom Dowden, grandson John Mark Tarver, parents Charles Cummings and Richie Lee Conerly Cummings, and sisters Doris Roberts and Nell Johanson. Services were Monday, February 3rd at the Pine Grove Baptist Church in the Peason Community. Burial followed at the Mount Carmel Cemetery. Reverend Keith Dowden will conduct the services.
