Calico Rock Progress, Calico Rock, Arkansas
Jul 2, 1926 – Wm D. Cantrell Dead
Wm D. Cantrell after a long illness, died at his home two and one-half miles east of Calico Rock last Saturday afternoon at one o'clock. Burial took place at the Spring Creek Cemetery Sunday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. T. J. Justice, pastor of the Methodist Church here.
Mr Cantrell for the past ten years or more has been afflicted partial paralysis and rheumatism, but about eleven months ago he fell and received a fracture of a hip, which accident has confined him to his bed since then.
Mr Cantrell was born in Alabama in 1861, coming to this section of Arkansas when twelve years of age and has been a citizen of Izard county since leaving Alabama, having been engaged at farming till incapacitated by ill health.
He was a member of the Methodist church and lived the life of a true and consistent Christian, highly respected by everyone.
Besides his wife, deceased is survived by three sons, seven daughters and four sisters.
