Adelbert 'Deb' Abraham
ABRAHAM, Adelbert - 84 of Roseburg, passed away Sunday July 5, 1987 in a local hospital. He was born January 3, 1903 in Roseburg to descendants of Douglas County pioneers. On August 15, 1933 in Bandon, Oregon he married Edith Bailey Roland who preceded him in death on February 7, 1968. He owned and operated the Fairhaven Market in Roseburg, and during World War II he operated a grocery store in Glendale. In addition to the grocery business, he was an automobile salesman for Cy Dillard Motors, Hansen Motors, and Roseburg Motors. He was a member of Laurel Masonic Lodge #13 A.F. & A.M. of Roseburg, life-member of the Elks Lodge #326 of Roseburg, and the Roseburg Country Club. Survivors include two step-daughters Nancy E. Byron of Tulelake, California; and Mary L. Smith of Seaside, Oregon; two sisters Dorothea McDermott of Seattle, Washington; and Elizabeth Abraham of Fortuna, California; a special friend Joyce Wallace of Roseburg; five grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Private Family Services will be held Wednesday. Interment will be later this week in Roseburg Memorial Gardens. At the family's request, contributions may be made in Deb's memory to the Shriner's Crippled Childrens Hospital or to the charity of your choice.
