Born June 6, 1916, in South Pekin to Charles and Grace Rowbottom Baker, he married Lorraine Allen on April 20, 1944, in Corning, Ark. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Richard (and Janet) Baker of Radcliff, Ky., Jerry (and Susan) Baker of Manito, Kevin (and Linda) Baker of Forest City and Robert Westrope of Chicago; three daughters, Judy (and Dale) Presley of Dixon, Janice (and Terry) Flairty of Forest City and Lorrie (and Bill) Jones of Manito; one brother, John (and Mildred) of East Peoria; two sisters, Margaret (and Les) Goytowski of Rogers, Ark., and Helen (and Lee) Calloway of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas, on Aug. 22, 1986; three brothers; and two sisters.
He was a World War II Navy veteran.
He was a laborer for Kammerer Concrete in Chillicothe for more than 30 years, retiring in 1977.
Services will be at Forest City Cemetery.
