Mr. Hanno was born Dec. 7, 1886, at Avoca, a son of the late Claus and Katrina Albrecht Hanno, who were pioneer farmers in the Remsen area.
Mr. Hanno had lived at Mitchell the last 20 years. He was a retired plant supervisor for Northern State Power at Sioux Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors are a son Ellsworth Hanno of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Gaden of Biloxi, Miss.; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews in this area.
