Obituary: "FLEMING FUNERAL RITES Death Comes to Long Time Resident at Farm Home Funeral services for John Carnahan Fleming, 75, who died May 20 at his farm home east of Manhattan, were held Saturday afternoon beginning with a short service at 1:45 o'clock at the Ryan chapel and followed by rites at 2:30 o'clock in the Carnahan Creek United Presbyterian church, with Dr. A. M. Reed of Manhattan in charge. Interment was in the Carnahan Creek cemetery. Mr. Fleming, a resident of Riley and Pottawatomie counties since boyhood, had been in failing health since Christmas and became seriously ill a week ago. He was born Feb. 16, 1861, in Pennsylvania, and was married March 6, 1885, to Margaret Weber at Leonardville. he was a member of the United Presbyterian church. Mr. Fleming is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Flora White and Mrs. Elsie Foresman, both of Cleburne, and four sons, Harry Fleming and Ray Fleming of Manhattan, Earl Fleming of St. George and Glen Fleming of Salina."
