Funeral for Mrs. Ludy Lorene Collins Gauntt, 64, of 706 West Seale Street will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. C. B. Anderson, former pastor of Harmony Baptist Church. Mrs. Gauntt died Friday, June 5, in Memorial Hospital. Born March 9, 1923 in Harmony Community, Mrs. Gauntt was the daughter of John C. and Ruthie Pitts Collins. She was a life-long resident of the county. She attended the Harmony School and was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church. She was a seamstress. She and Earl Webster Gauntt were married Jan. 26, 1948 in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Ronald Earl Gauntt of Webster and a daughter Jonnie Sue (Lynn) Laird of Nacogdoches; three brothers O. C. Collins, John C. Collins Jr and Howard Collins of Nacogdoches; two sisters, Louise Rotramel of Dallas and Joy Partin of Nacogdoches and four grandchildren; Kellie and Kyle Laird of Nacogdoches and Justin and Amber Gauntt of Webster. Pallbearers will be Richard Partin, Jerry Collins, Danny Collins, Douglas Gauntt, Jimmy Rotramel, Wayne Collins and Buddy Castleberry. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the staff of Laird Funeral Home and Laird Monument Company. Laird Funeral Home, Nacogdoches, Texas.
