A native of Winn Parish, he married Miss Gerusha Cockerham in 1909, who survives him.
Funeral services were held at the Joyce Union Church of which he was a member, Wednesday, with the Rev. H. H. McBride, Baptist pastor of Winnfield officiating.
Mr. Creel also leaves eight sons and three daughters, Aaron, Julian, Mathew, Hezzie, Silas, Dewey, Myrtle, and Geraldine Creel, all of Joyce; John Benjamin Creel of Navy Yards, South Carolina; Cortez Creel and Ivy Creel of Camp Polk, La. One brother, Thomas Jackson Creel of near Sikes, and one sister, Mrs. Piedy [sic Piety] Cockerham of Joyce, also survive.
