Donald Valmore Curtis was the eldest child of Willian Elmer Curtis and Iva May Porter Curtis. William was born September 4, 1887 and Iva May was born May 27, 1901 in Greenfield, Iowa, died December 2, 1915 in Boone, Iowa. They were the parents of three children; Donald Curtis, Claudine Jeantte Willa May Curtis (Morrison), Willa died in Portland in 1979. William operated a bakery in Boone, Iowa for years. He married Mary Arringdale in 1916 and they had three children James, Robert and Mary Alice.

Donald married Eleanor Nadine Morey in Lincoln, Nebraska on June 2, 1934. They had four children: Carole Lea, born Sept. 4, 1938, Gary Alan, born Sept, 20, 1939, Donn Rae, born Jan. 28, 1943 and Ellen Kay, born March 24, 1944. Carole died in infancy.

In 1936 Donald came back to Klamath Falls and worked for Ewuana Lumber Company and then Weyerhaeuser Company.

Don V. Curtis, 89, Klamath Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 1995 in Klamath Falls.
Mr. Curtis worked for Ewauna Box Factory and for Weyerhaueser Co. until retiring at the age of 65.
He wold shoes at Sears Roebuck & Co., Bogatay's and The Shoe Gallery and continued selling shoes until he was 75 years old.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor, Klamath Falls, daughters, Donna Thompson,Forest Grove and Ellen Van De Vanter, Tucson, ariz.; sisters, Mary Alice Mortensen, Vancouver, Wash., and Claudine Claseman, Perry, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary, and a daughter Carol Lee.
