Char. Dockum, the young man mentioned in these columns as having met with an accident while out hunting, and whose arm was amputated made necessary by the effects of a gun shot, died at the home of John Martin in Greenview, Friday of last week. He was aged 21 years and 4 days, and had resided in this county all his life. Funeral services were held Sunday. (Petersburg Observer Oct. 27, 1897)
