Fredrick Oscar was the son of John Henry and Amalia Theresa (Miedtank) Thränert, immigrants from Saxony, Germany. His obituary below incorrectly lists his father's name as the deceased.

Frederick married Frankie May Adams on 15 July 1896 in Tarrant County, Texas. Children were: Wilhelmina Theresa, Kathleen Viola, Grace Winifred, Edwin F., Helen Frankie, Marjory rose, Ruth Erline, Nina Alayne, and Elsie Fern. After Frederick's death Frankie married Sam Jones.

John Henry Thranert, for a number of years a resident of Ranger, died at his home on Foch street, Ranger, Thursday afternoon. He was about seventy years of age and had been an invalid for several years. He is survived by his wife, one son who is married and lives in Detroit, Mich., two married daughters, one in Ranger and one living in Fort Worth, and four younger daughters.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the Central Baptist church, Rev. A. L. Leake, pastor, in charge. Interment at Evergreen cemetery was in charge of the Odd Fellows, of which deceased was a member.
