From the Bellows Falls Gazette, Bellows Falls, Vermont, 6 Apr 1848:
“At his residence in this state, Mr. Hezekiah Goff, in his 94th year of his age.
Mr. Goff was born in Middletown, Connecticut, in the year 1754. He enlisted in the war of the revolution in 1776 and labored in the service of his country until her independence was acknowledged. No truer patriot trod his native soil During the last war with Great Britain, he enlisted in the American army and served until discharged on account of age. After living a life of great usefulness he has at last sunk beneath the weight of many years, and gone, we trust, to a better world.”
