VALLEY FALLS --- Ruth Evelyn Kyle, 82, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at Shawnee Gardens care facility in Shawnee.

She was born Nov. 13, 1920, at Valley Falls, the daughter of Walter A. and Lillie Mae Booth Koons. She graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1938.

She married Richard C. "Dick" Kyle on March 19, 1943, at Oskaloosa. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2000. They farmed and raised cattle on their farm south of Valley Falls. Mrs. Kyle was a homemaker.

She was a member of Valley Falls United Methodist Church, United Church Women, Pleasantview Grange at Ozawkie and Farm Bureau Women's Unit.

Survivors are a son, Darel Kyle, Shawnee; two sisters, Frieda Fischer, Deltona, Fla., and Jessie Mae Montgomery, Valley Falls; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home, Valley Falls. Burial will be in the Valley Falls cemetery. Family and friends will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Falls United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 6, Valley Falls, 66088.
