James Richard Colahan, 83, passed away in Klamath Falls, Ore., on Thursday, March 12, 2009.
James was born on July 10, 1925, in Klamath Falls to James W. and Grace (Clanton) Colahan.
He graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1943 and worked for several years as a body man at Miller Brothers Olds-Cadillac dealership.
He met and married Vieva M. Provost in Klamath Falls on Jan. 12, 1946. The couple made their home in Klamath Falls.
In 1956, he began a 30-year career as a timber faller, working many years for Leonard Puttnam.
James enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing, especially ocean fishing, and elk hunting in the Keno area. He was a Past Noble Grand of the I.O.O.F., and Past Master of Shasta View Grange.
He leaves behind his wife of 63 years; son Mike Colahan; and numerous nieces and nephews and their spouses, including Keith and Linda Colahan, Kent and Barbara Colahan, Rodney and Sherrill Bricco, Wayne and Kathy Bricco, Bruce and Pam Bricco, Christine and Joe Lindstrum Ginger and Dennis Knowles, and Richard Detroit; many grandnieces and grandnephews and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; and dear friends Penny and Mike Koerschgen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Alice Thomas, Charlotte Detroit, Katherine Bricco, Clanton William Colahan, and Arnold Virgil Colahan, and nephews Paul Thomas and Steve Colahan.
