HENDERSON - Services for Charlie Pruit Armstrong, 80, of Longview, will be 10 a.m. today, March 14, 2009, at Crawford-Crim-Bryan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Laneville Cemetery. Mr. Armstrong died March 11, 2009.

Born October 28, 1928, in Laneville, he served our country first in the U.S. Navy , second in the U.S. Army.
He left behind two daughters and three step daughters, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

This wonderful man may have been my stepfather but he treated me just like I was his daughter. You would not find a man who was more gentle and more kind. He was very slow to anger and
quick with a kind word or a helping hand.

WHAT IS A VETERAN?
A 'veteran' - whether active duty,
discharged, retired, or reserve -
is someone who, at one point in their
life, wrote a blank check made payable
to 'The United States of America,' for
an amount of 'up to, and including their
life.'
That is honor, and there are way too many
people in this country today, who no longer
understand that fact.
