EX-SEAMSTRESS, DIES
Pauline M. Johnson, 73, of 406 Hilltop Towers, wife of William H. Johnson, died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, where she had been a patient for about a week.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Rev. Benoit Dostie officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Richard, Charles and Roger F., all of Watertown; two daughters, Mrs. Harlow (June) Hunt, Watertown, and Mrs. Wilfred (Beverly) Van Epps, Scottsville; 28 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Joseph Marino, Ocala, Fla., Charles and Floyd, both of Watertown, and Robert, North Carolina; four sisters, Mrs. Robert (Ellen) Sawyer, Florida, Mrs. Charles (Lena) Cummings, Watertown, Mrs. Larry (Betty) Whisnat, North Carolina, and Mrs. James (Clarissa) Withrow, Fulton, and nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Wayne and David, died before her.
Born in Watertown, June 28, 1909, daughter of Charles C. and Lena Bernard Marino, she was married to William H. Johnson Aug. 11, 1927 in Sacred Heart Church.
Before her marriage she worked at Taggert Brothers. She was employed at the New York Air Brake during World War II.
She worked at Olga Knitting Mills as a seamstress for more than 30 years, retiring in 1968.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
