Rev. A. J. Moore, age 73, died at his home in Golinda at 7:15 o'clock Monday morning. Funeral services will be held at Robinson Baptist Church at 2 o' clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. C. E. Poe, pastor of the Lorena Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. F. B. Williams, Baptist pastor of Golinda officiating. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery.
Rev. Moore was born in Georgia, moving to McLennan County in 1890 (from Arkansas). He served as pastor of the Baptist Churches in Downsville, Golinda and Mooreville since then.
He is survived by one son R. (Robert) T. Moore, Rt. 8, four daughters, Mrs. J. W. Baxley, Rt. 6, Mrs. John Climer, Golinda; Mrs. J. L. Carey and Mrs C. S. Simons, Rt. 3 Waco, two brothers J. C. and W. C. (S.) Moore, Waco.
Active pallbeaarers will be: James Ferrell, Sam Walker, James Baxley, Cris Simons, John Carey, Charles Rowton of the Robinson Community.
Honorary pallbearers: Dr. H. W. Willis, Dr. P. A. Clark, John Climer, Wm. Scott, J. W. Lain, Lee Younce, J. K. Ross, W. C. Crunk, E. C. Farley and Jeff Baxley.

Rev. Moore and others from Golinda established the Downsville Baptist Church in 1896. The land was donated by E. J. Webb and his sister, Fanny Crunk and her husband W. C. Crunk. The church still serves the community today.
