Rentha Dotson passed away Monday, March 19, 2007 at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper, Arkansas. She was 98.The daughter of John Kelse and Tildie Gladden Shatswell, Rentha was born January 30, 1909 in Red Rock, Newton County, Arkansas. Rentha was married to Washie Brown and Herman Dotson. She grew up in Newton County. During World War II, she worked in California building war ships. Later she lived in Kansas City, Missouri before moving back to Arkansas to live in Mountain View and Jasper. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren over the years. Rentha loved to plant a garden, work outside, and spend time on the court square listening to music in Mountain View. Rentha loved the Lord with all her heart reading her Bible is what her family remembers the most about this devout lady. * She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, four brothers; Sherman, Clayton, Truman and Wilburn; one sister, Retha; two sons, George Brown and Lewis Brown; one daughter, Judy Broyles.Funeral service is Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Fox, Arkansas with Rev. Jim Bryant officiating. Burial will be in the Fox Cemetery. Pallbearers are Melvin Brown, Jr., James Brisco, David Mitchell, David Taylor, Gary Waters and Robert Stone. Honorary pallbearers are Wane Dean, the Staff of the Newton County Nursing Home and Dr. Justice.Roller Coffman Funeral Home, Mtn. View is in charge of the arrangements.
