Louis Leon Gates, 79, died Sunday, April 17, 1988 in a local hospital.
Mr. Gates was a native of South Dakota but had resided in Pensacola since 1949. He was a member of Temple Beth-el, the Warrington Elks Lodge, A1 Gray DAV Chapter No. 23, the Gulf Shores American Legion, the Forty & Eight and the AFGE.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Wimberly Gates, 3 daughters - Patricia, Joan and Ann, 3 sons - Robert, Fred and Samuel, 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
