Funeral services were held Monday, August 1, 1 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Kermit Picklesimer, 78, of Sitka, Ky., who passed away Friday, July 29 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. Mr. Picklesimer was born November 23, 1926 at Farmers, Ky., son of the late Oakley and Mallie Hitchcock Picklesimer. He was a retired miner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anita Jo Picklesimer. Surviving are one son, Rick Picklesimer of Sitka, Ky.; three daughters, Sherry Hinton of Frankfort, Ky., Terri Goble of Atlanta, Ga., and Krista Rodgers of Winchester, Ky.; two sisters, Helen Blair of Georgetown, Ky., and Lina Dean of Falmouth, Ky.; four brothers, Custer Picklesimer of Paintsville, Ky., John Picklesimer of Louisa, Ky., Allen Picklesimer of Zanesville, Ohio, and Kent Picklesimer of Flatwoods, Ky.; and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The service was officiated by the Revs. Tobe Wheeler and Mark VanHoose, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.
