Berchie Mae Rowland, 72, was born in Crocker on Dec. 9, 1912, the daughter of Thomas and Arlena Thornsberry Shelton and died in a Lebanon hospital on Oct. 11, 1985. She was united in marriage to Claude Rowland on Aug. 29, 1961.

She is survived by her husband Claude of the home; two daughters, Virginia Tingle of Crocker and Charlet York of Waynesville; two grandsons, Charlie Tingle of Crocker and Kenny York of Waynesville; one great-grandson Craig; one brother, Carl Shelton of Iberia; and one sister, Irene Wall of Tulsa, Okla. She was preceded in death by one son Carl, one brother Orville and her former husband, Charlie Whittle.

She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was a faithful member of the Concord Christian Church. She loved flowers and gardening.

Funeral services were held in the Concord Christian Church on Monday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lee Todd officiating. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery under the direction of the Long Moss Williams Chapel of Crocker.
