Carl H. Shelton, 69, of Iberia died Tuesday, April 5, 1988 at Memorial Community Hospital in Jefferson City. He was born March 1, 1919 in Hawkeye to Thomas and Arlena Thornsberry Shelton. On Sept. 28, 1948 at Bentonville, Ark. he was married to Norma Jean Clark, who survives.

Mr. Shelton was an Army veteran of World War II. He was owner-operator of service stations and radiator shops in Crocker and Iberia for 35 years. He was in Crocker in the 1950's and 1960's and had lived in Iberia since 1973. HE was a member of the Concord Christian Church.

Other survivors are a son, Russell Shelton of the home; and a foster son, Gene Goeman of LaPorte, Ind.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Farris Wall officiating. Burial was in the Iberia Cemetery.
