A lifelong resident of the Ottawa District, Mrs. John E. Lee died Saturday in hospital at Montreal. She was in her 60th year.
The former Margaret Ann Hope, she was born at Glen Robertson, Ont., a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. Kenneth Hope, and was educated in that district. She was married 32 years ago, at Leitrim, to John Ernest Lee, who survives and had lived at Johnston's Corners ever since.
A member of Gloucester Presbyterian Church, she was active in all phases of church life, in particular the Women's Missionary Society, of which she was a member.
In addition to her husband she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Donald G. Wilson of Ottawa; four sisters: Misses Janet, Mary and Christina Lee in Ottawa, and Mrs. C.H. Couch of Troy, Pa.; four brothers, Dr. G.J. Hope, of Edmonton, Alex Hope of Bells Corners, Donald Hope of Johnston's Corners and Murray Hope, of Leitrim and one grandson.
A fifth brother, George M. Hope, died in 1950.
The body is resting at the parlors of Hulse and Playfair, Ltd., 315 MacLeod Street, where services will be held in the chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. W.E. Black. Interment will be made at Johnston's Corners.
