Graveside services were held last Thursday in the Sheldon cemetery for Mrs. Matilda Willhite Rathbun, whose death occurred Sunday. The Rev. Orville Newman of Sheldon officiated.
Mrs. Bud Ponder and Mrs. Ollie Parsons sang "We'll Never Grow Old" and "Sweet Bye and Bye." Pallbearers were W. M. Willhite, T. B. Willhite, T. O. Willhite, O. B. Foreman, C. J. Donaldson and Robert Clinkenbeard. Burial was under the direction of the Eichinger Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rathbun was born in Vernon county, December 8, 1872 (sic, headstone has Dec. 2) the daughter of Jeremiah and Matilda Willhite. She was married, Jan. 1, 1890, to Otis Rathbun. She was a long-time member of the Christian church. Surviving are five children, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three brothers.
