Mrs. J. H. Kuhlman Called By Death

Mrs. Gesina Kuhlman, widow of the late John H. Kuhlman, and an early day settle of this community passed away Saturday morning, December 14, at a Fremont hospital where she had been confined the past year and a half.

Funeral arrangements were left in charge of Wollmer & Warne, the funeral being held Moday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the St. Pauls Lutheran church, north of Hooper, the pastor, Rev. H. O. Rhode preaching the words of comfort to the relatives and friends assembled for the services. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Kuhlman, as Gesine Monich was born in Germany, November 4, 1856, and passed away at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 10 days. She came to the United States in 1870 and located with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs Tonjes H. Monnich, on a farm north of Hooper. She was marrid in January, 1880, to John H. Kuhlman and began her married life on a farm in the Oakland vicinity. Later she and Mr. Kuhlman lived for a number of years at Oklahoma City, Okla., after whch they returned to Hooper, and this place and comminity has since been her home. Mr. Kuhlman died in Hooper on August 13, 1912.

Her cose surviving relatives are her sister-in-law, Mrs. Gerhard Monnich, and two nephews, George Monnich of this place and Rev. Henry Monnich of Schuyler, and one niece, Miss Bertha Monnich of Kearney.
