Arthur Vern "Deacon" Morris

Arthur Vern Morris, born May 30, 1918 passed away Saturday, June 21, 1997 peacefully from cardiac arrest.

Born to Orson and Olga M. Smith Morris.

He served in the US Army during World War II. Retired in 1976 from the Salt Lake County Fire Dept. after 27 years. He spent his last days going to Wendover, working in his yard and creating projects to keep himself busy.

He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife, Belle C. Morris and the children who loved him.

Survived by wife, Belva C. Nichol Morris; children, Paula (Jeff) Sorensen; Tracy (Jane) Nichol; Cynthia (Morris) Smith; Melena (Danny) Krizman; Greg (Felicia) Nichol; Heidi (Ed) Webber; Ruby Elliott; Ron (Becky) Morris; Laurie (Ken) Carlson; Leone (Carl) Foy; 31 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy J. (Maury) Morris; sister, Clara Witzel.

Preceded in death by first wife, June Livesey Morris; daughter, Barbara Allen Liston; son, Vern Morris, Jr.; granddaughter, Ashlee Morris.

Funeral services, Tuesday, June 24, 1997, 11 a.m., Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, where friends may call 9:30 - 10:50 am. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
