Former Illinois Senator. He served in the Statehouse for twenty years as a Republican. He was also a Chiropractic physician and had served in the United States Navy during World War II as a tail gunner on the Ticonderoga. He served on many boards. He led the legislative effort which secured the SIU School of Medicine to be seated in Springfield. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Anne E. Davidson and Jane Marie Seibert; a son, John I. Davidson and several grandchildren.
