OBITUARY: Boonville, Indiana Standard - Sept. 28, 1900:
The remains of Uncle Peter Veeck, whom we all knew and respected as a good and true citizen, were followed to their last resting place Thursday by a large crowd of friends and relatives. He was about 82 years old at the time of his death. He leaves three sons and four daughters, his wife and one daughter having preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted by Revs. Weigel and Miller.
The 1880 Federal Census shows Peter and spouse, Catherine with eight children. Names of the children are:
John - born about 1846
Caroline - born about 1848
Catherine born about 1850
Barbara - born about 1852
Dora - born about 1859
Peter - born about 1861
Jacob - born about 1863
