John Wiley Galloway was the son of Jonathan N. and Elizabeth Wiley Galloway. His father is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport, IN. John first married Sarah M. Haskins on 1 January 1864 in White Co, IN. Sarah died about 1869 in White County. John probably came to Texas with his son, Alpheus, and his family about 1907/1908. He is in the household of that son in 1910 Anderson Co, TX. He married Kate Young Campbell 2 July 1917 in Cincinnati,OH. They are still there in 1920. Evidently, John came back to Anderson County before his death in 1929. Kate was living with her daughter in 1930 in Tennessee.

NOTE: There is some disagreement on the year of his birth. His gravestone states 1934. His death certificate states he was 86 at the time his death on 17 Dec 1929. His marriage license to Kate Campbell states that he was born in 1944.
