Services set for Retired AF man

Abb Francis Zike, a retired tech sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, will be honored with a full military funeral at 7:00 p.m. July 22nd in Stickel Chapel with Chaplain Makepeace in charge. He will be buried the next afternoon at 1 p.m. in the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego.

Sgt. Zike entered military service at the Presidio in San Francisco Sept. 16, 1935 and was discharged in 1957. He served both in WWII and in the Korean Conflict.

He was born in Sanders, Ind. on March 12, 1908 and passed away at Edwards AFB Hospital July 16th.

Survivors include his widow Nadene of the home address in Bakersfield; his mother Mrs. Theodocia Wooden Zike; a son, Raleigh who is stationed in the Air Force at Da Nang, Vietnam; and daughters Murdice Talley and Agnes Calvin, both of Bakersfield. Seven grandchildren and one great grandchild are also survivors.
