PRESTON
J. R. Preston, a native of Mercer county, and a prominent merchant at High Bridge for the past twenty years, died at his home early Saturday morning after an illness of several weeks with heart trouble. He was one of the most prominent men in his section and will be greatly missed by t he community where he lived. He was about 63 years of age and a splendid, upright gentleman, who had the respect and liking of all who knew him. He is survived by is second wife and one daughter, Mrs. John Gibson, of Ludlow. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon by Rev. Jones and the interment was at the Wilmore Cemetery.
