Ovella Ferguson Hughes, 83, of Roanoke, Va., passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Lula Belle and John W. Ferguson. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Betty Hughes, and Ronnie and Jeannie Hughes; a sister, Audrey Altice; a brother, Paul Ferguson; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; and special friend, Sonny Vest. Services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Brookhill Community Baptist Church. Pastor George Stevenson will officiate. Interment will follow in Bandy Cemetery, Roanoke County.
