Chas. Fred Stainbrook Died July 29 - Charles Frederick Stainbrook, 65, died July 29, 1965 in the Miami County hospital in Paola, Kansas. The eldest son of Elma (sic) Trinkle Stainbrook, he was born January 3, 1900 at the family farm west of La Cygne where he spent most of his life. He married Ruth Earline Stevens March 14, 1921 and to this union were born 12 children. He was preceded by his wife and eldest son, William Daniel, and infant twins in death. Surviving are six sons and three daughters: Charles of Overland Park; Mrs. Donna Good, Nevada, Mo., Wilbur, Kenneth, Robert, James, Donald, Mrs. Marilyn Masoner all of La Cygne; three brothers: William, Pomona, Calif.; Nelson, Minneapolis, Kansas and Roy, La Cygne; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Spring, Boulder, Colo.; 29 grandchildren, two nephews and four nieces. He was an active member of the IOOF and Rebekah lodges of La Cygne. Services were held in the La Cygne Christian Church with Rev. James Bade officiating. Carl Teagarden sang "In the Garden: and "Beyond the Sunset." He was accompanied by Mrs. Harold Terry. Bearers were: Frank Weickert, Dillard Croxton, James Persons, Clayton Vawter, Fred Carothers, Clell Jacobs, Earl Vance and Wayne Hardisty(sic). Members of the IOOF Lodge conducted the memorial services at the grave in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
