Ada Alley Reser, 89, of Topeka, passed away February 27, 2009.
Ada was born April 3, 1919 in Holton to Charles and Eva (Lyon) Abele.
She was a 1937 graduate of Holton High School and graduated from Christ Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. Ada has been a resident of Topeka for over 35 years. She married Hershel Alley in 1942 and Eugene Reser in 1981. Ada was a parishioner at Gage Park Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Kenneth) Thonen of Topeka, four grandchildren, Kerry (Ann) Thonen of Lawrence, Scott (Sheila) Thonen of Topeka, Sheri (Kent) Schumaker of Topeka, and Matt Thonen of Topeka, and five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jake, Kaleb, Trevor, and Luke. Ada is preceded in death by her former husband and her second husband.
Ada will lie in state after 2:00 pm, with visitation to follow from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, March 2nd, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd, 11:00 am, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Kansas City Chapter, 6701 W. 64th Ste 319 Shawnee Mission, KS 66202 or Heart of America Hospice 3715 SW 29th Street Ste 100 Topeka, KS 66614.
