JASON BUCHANAN SUCCUMBS TUESDAY

Jason Buchanan, 85, Valliant, died at his home at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday following a long illness.

Born in Okolona, Ark., November 11, 1871, he had resided at Valliant since 1899, moving from Arkansas. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Church of Christ and a Mason.

Funeral services have been set for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Valliant Church of Christ with Tilman Pope officiating.

Arrangements and burial in Valliant cemetery are under direction of Coffey funeral home.

He is survived by his widow; five sons, Claude Buchanan, Millerton; J. R. Buchanan, Oklahoma City; Cecil Buchanan, Wright City; Hal Buchanan, Pryor, and Steve Buchanan, El Centro, Calif.; six daughters, Mrs. Roy Roberts, Mrs. E. C. Haynes, Miss Sue Buchanan and Miss Nora Buchanan, all of Valliant; Mrs. Marshall Taylor, Willis, Tex., and Miss May Buchanan, Oklahoma City; one step-daughter, Mrs. Leo Henry, Redwater, Tex.,; two sisters, Mrs. Jett Moore, Fairview, N. M., and Mrs. James Townsend, Bowie, Tex.; 22 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
