Roy Brownell Dies at Home Last Night
I. L. (Roy) Brownell, 85, only surviving son of the late Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Brownell, prominent Orland pioneers, was found dead at his home west of Orland this morning. Mr. Brownell had been in poor health for a number of years and apparently was the victim of a heart attack during the night.
Born at the Brownell Ranch on November 20, 1867, Mr. Brownell was the last of the three sons who were prominently identified with the sheep industry for over a half century. His wife. Mrs. Laura Brownell, died several years ago.
Mr. Brownell is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Phoebe Steuben; one grandson; one great grandchild; and his nephew Louis Brownell.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Sweet chapel. – Transcribed by E.
