Leone and Lorenzo lived in Wanship, Summit County, Utah for thirteen years. They then moved to Salt Lake, East Mill Creek area for 46 years. Leone was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Leone and her husband served two missions, the first in New Zealand, and then in Washington D.C.
Leone played the organ at the Senior Center in St. George, for 14 years, while dinner was served. In 2000, she represented Washington County at the Senior pageant held in Salt Lake City. She received the honor of 2nd runner up. Leone was 85 years old at the time.
Surviving family include her daughters, Phyllis (Tom) Brown of Salt Lake City, Carma Unck of St. George; son, Max L. (Kathie) Bates of Vacaville, CA; brothers, Blaine (Marrilyn) of Salt Lake City and Dean (Darlene) of Uintah, UT; 18 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 38 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Ila Muhlestein, one brother and seven sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 19, 2009, at the St. George 10th Ward Chapel, 591 W. 500 N., St. George. Interment will take place in the St. George City Cemetery
