Amber passed gently from this life on February 23, 2009, following a brief illness and 10 enjoyable days with loved ones and family, laughing loudly, visiting late into the night, and retelling old favorite, slightly exaggerated stories. She resided at 1158 East 2700 South in the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah at the time of her death.

Amber was born November 1, 1922 in Alterra, Utah to Asa Daniel Reynolds, Jr. and Flora Abigail Reynolds. She grew up during the Great Depression in a loving family of eight children, several cousins, and others, who were treated as siblings.

She married Samuel Leland Gough (Lee), then in the US Navy, on August 6, 1942 in New York City. They were the parents of three sons - David (Carol) of Solana Beach, CA, Steve (Joy) of Sandy, UT, Gary (Kim) of Aurora, CO. Lee passed away in 1968. Amber married and later divorced Lee Gray.

Amber worked at the University of Utah in the Purchasing Department. She was instrumental in implementing many government initiatives to establish women and minority-owned businesses.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Lee helped establish the Cub Scout program within the LDS Church. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

In addition to her sons, she is survived by 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her good friend Sid Crandall. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings and her grand-daughter Andrea.
