Viola Myers Hogue "Vi" Allen, widow of Louis Manly Allen, died July 29, 2004 at her home "Allendale Acres Farm".

She is survived by one son, Marvin Fulton Hogue and his wife, Kathy of Colonial Heights; three grandchildren, Marcia Hogue Peters and her husband, Steve, Laura Hogue Melton Wade and her husband, Kenneth, all of Powhatan, Stephanie Hogue Zahringer and her husband, James of Colonial Heights; nine great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren; and a loving sister-in-law, Betty Lou Myers.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James Bolling Myers Jr. of Powhatan.

Mrs. Allen was active in numerous community and civic organizations and loved Powhatan County. She was the organizer and director of the H.E.N. Pantry for Powhatan County, a Past Matron of Powhatan Chapter 146 of O.E.S., vice president of Elliott Grays Chapter 1877 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, past president of the Sunshiners Club, a member of Powhatan Recreation committee, interested in the formation of the new YMCA in Powhatan, past Home Ambassador to the Eastern Star Home of Virginia.

The family received friends Sunday from 3pm to 5pm in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60), Powhatan. Graveside services held 1pm Monday in the Fine Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Powhatan.
