The Beeber family was instrumental establishing the Immanual Lutheran Church, Clarkestown, land deeded April 5, 1791, the first church in Lycoming Co. John was a native of Germany who immigrated to Bucks Co., PA, prior to the Revolution, and served through the war of Independence. At its close he took up a soldier's claim on Muncy Creek, built a cabin in the unbtroken forest, and commenced pioneer life in his new home. He married soon after coming to this county, reared a large family, and died upon the old homestead.
