Daniel Boone Hodges was the son of William Cayson Hodges and Kaziah George of TN. We have never found recorded graves for the parents.
Daniel married Susan Koonce about 1824 in TN. They migrated to Texas from McNairy Co, TN sometime between 1850 & 1860 settling first in Nacogdoches Co. Susan Hodges died while they were in Nacogdoches Co. Daniel moved on to Johnson County sometime before 1870 and lived there the remainder of his life.
His daughter Kizzah Jane Hodges Shelton is also buried at Sand Flat. Her memorial is # 19968468. Interesting; her Texas Death Certificate is Kizzah Jane; her tombstone is J. K. Shelton.
