Robert Mansfield Fife, age 83, passed away on February 22, 2009 at his home in Taylorsville, Utah surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born February 12, 1926 in Salt Lake City to Alexander Fife and Myrtle Weight Fife. He graduated from South High School.

Bob married Loma LaVon Andersen on June 24, 1946 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a gunner aboard a troop transport. His true love was woodworking, and he enjoyed many hours in his workshop making furniture for his family. He also passed that love on to his sons.

Bob is survived by his wife, Loma Fife; children, Larry, Randall (Theresa), Ken (Tammy), Diane, Craig and Marilyn (Keith); brother, A. Louis Fife; 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South.
